Presentation: Aspire to Stay Active
Aspire55 – tagged as Asia’s first virtual retirement village – advocates the joy of health and social activities with a community of like-minded friends. With this in mind, Aspire55 co-organised a lunch talk at its One Commonwealth Clubhouse with CREA.
Associate Director Jiaming Ju spoke briefly about the research being conducted by the Centre. As traditional Chinese medicine is a popular treatment for the elderly, and the Singapore Life Panel® does include TCM cost-related questions in our survey, Dr Ju Ying was also invited to be part of the event. He is the person for whom the group of about 20 retirees were more than willing to delay their lunch for.
Dr Ju is an expert in traditional Chinese medicine, with 38 years of experience and has his own practice. He is a graduate of Liaoning Academy of TCM in China and a visiting scholar to the University of Tsukuba in Tokyo.
The elderly participants were delighted that Dr Ju had agreed to spare some time during his stay in Singapore to consult with them on the internal and external therapies for treating geriatric aches and pains. It was a good thing everyone had breakfast this morning because the lunchtime session way exceeded the time that was allotted!
